Engineering Support From Requirement to Product Configuration

Not every HVAC requirement can be solved by choosing a model from a catalogue. Projects may involve unusual temperatures, fixed installation dimensions, hazardous atmospheres, high filtration requirements, corrosive gases, difficult water conditions or equipment that must integrate with an existing system.

YONGFAN Technical Support helps customers organize these requirements and identify an appropriate product family, model range and configuration. You do not need to know the final model before contacting us.

What We Can Help With

Product Selection

If you know the duty but not the model, YONGFAN can help narrow the product range. Current fan documentation specifically includes airflow/static-pressure sizing and series-selection support.

Configuration Review

When a Standard Model Needs Additional Options

A standard product platform may still require project-specific configuration. Technical support helps determine whether a standard model is sufficient, or a configured / customized product is required.

Retrofit & Replacement Support

Replace by Specification—Not by Appearance

Existing equipment does not always have to be replaced with the same brand. But replacement selection should not be based only on external appearance, nominal size, or connection diameter.

Function Performance Dimensions Connections Electrical Requirements Control Interface

For a retrofit enquiry, send as much of the following as possible:

  • Existing manufacturer and model
  • Nameplate photo
  • Overall dimensions
  • Flange / connection dimensions
  • Airflow or flow, pressure, voltage
  • Existing drawings

Selected YONGFAN fan products are documented with compatible flange arrangements across related configurations, illustrating why interface information can be important in retrofit work.

Confirm the Complete Installation

For HEPA or other high-efficiency filtration, also provide housing type, seal arrangement, final-stage requirement, available fan pressure and required test documentation.

High-efficiency filter performance should be considered together with installation sealing and system resistance. Current YONGFAN filtration documentation references scan/leak testing for applicable high-efficiency grades.

Chemical Filtration Support

Identify the Contaminant Before Selecting the Unit

Chemical-filtration projects require more application information than ordinary particulate filtration. YONGFAN’s gas-phase filtration documentation explicitly distinguishes room-protection systems from exhaust-treatment systems and requests airflow, gas analysis and application function for selection.

Material Selection Support

The Medium Matters

Material choice can be critical for heat exchangers and other water-contact equipment. If water or process conditions are unusual, provide chloride level, hardness, pH, temperature and process medium rather than selecting material only from price.

Match the Control Function

For controls and valves, send valve function, DN, flow, differential pressure, connection type, voltage, control signal, normally open / normally closed, and existing actuator or controller information.

For retrofit projects, photos and the original product datasheet can significantly improve cross-reference accuracy.

Tunnel Ventilation Support

Tunnel Fans Require System-Level Data

Jet-fan selection cannot be reduced to airflow alone. YONGFAN’s SDS/SDS(R) materials identify selection factors including tunnel dimensions, traffic volume, vehicle emissions, CO / NOx limits, tunnel air velocity, fire-emergency requirement and installed thrust, and state that fan quantity and configuration are confirmed against project thrust calculations.

Smoke-Exhaust & Hazardous Applications

Critical-Duty Products Need Clear Requirements

Some applications involve safety-related operating conditions: fire smoke exhaust, hazardous-area ventilation, explosion-proof equipment, high-temperature emergency operation.

Define the product before defining the brand

For OEM or private-label projects, first establish base product, performance, dimensions, materials, electrical configuration, options and applicable documentation. After the technical configuration is agreed, branding and packaging can be coordinated.

Start With Measured Data

Fans: measured airflow, pressure, motor current, rotation direction, duct arrangement.

Filters: measured pressure drop, installed airflow, filter condition, installation seal.

Heat exchangers: inlet/outlet temperatures, flow, pressure, water condition.

Controls: voltage, control signal, valve position, controller status.

Not “the fan is weak” or “the heat exchanger is not working well.”
What Technical Support Does Not Replace

Project Design Responsibility Remains With the Project Team

YONGFAN can support product selection, configuration, product data, technical drawings and equipment-related guidance.

However, final building or process-system design may involve local codes, fire strategy, structural design, electrical design, overall control sequence and complete system calculations. These responsibilities should remain with the qualified project designer, consultant or responsible engineering organization.

This distinction is particularly important for fire, hazardous-area, pressure and life-safety applications.
