Electronic Water Treatment: Matched to Peak Flow, Hardness & Pipe Geometry

Electronic water treatment must match flow, hardness, temperature and pipe layout; wrong JFGP sizing can add pressure loss without addressing the water-quality problem.

YONGFAN JFGP Series provides inline physical descaling across 16 standardized sizes (DN15–DN600), operating on water hardness <700 mg/L as CaCO₃ and temperatures ≤95 °C with minimal head loss (≤1.5 m H₂O).

16 Sizes DN15 – DN600

Scale Problems Persist When Pipe Size Is Used as the Only Input

A chilled-water plant can have the correct connection diameter and still see no change in scaling if peak flow, total hardness, or operating water temperature exceed equipment limits.

Physical Conditioning Chemistry

Why Peak Flow and Hardness Govern Treatment

Per ASHRAE Water Treatment guidance, water conditioning depends on calcium/magnesium concentration, flow velocity, and thermal solubility.

Sizing on Pipe DN, Not Peak Flow

Ordering JFGP-100 just because the pipe is DN100 causes severe mis-sizing if peak system flow exceeds 80 m³/h or sits far below rated velocity.

Impact: Insufficient treatment exposure or high pressure drop

Water Hardness >700 mg/L

Standard JFGP is limited to hardness <700 mg/L as CaCO₃. Water above 700 mg/L requires Induction Treatment (up to 2,000 mg/L) or RLC Softeners.

Impact: Scale breakthrough in heat exchangers

Temperature Above 95 °C

Standard JFGP is rated for water temperatures ≤95 °C. Higher-temperature heating loops exceed standard electrode insulation limits.

Impact: Dielectric breakdown of electrode seals

Chemical Removal Assumption

Physical conditioning does not remove dissolved calcium/magnesium. If process specifications require low residual hardness, specify RLC softeners.

Impact: Non-compliance with boiler chemistry codes

Electronic Water Treatment FAQ

Direct engineering answers regarding JFGP flow ratings, hardness limits, chemical softening, and outage needs.

What is the JFGP flow range?

The standard headline range spans 1–2,700 m³/h across 16 sizes (DN15–DN600).

What hardness can JFGP handle?

The standard application boundary is <700 mg/L total hardness as CaCO₃.

Does JFGP remove calcium and magnesium ions?

No. JFGP is physical conditioning that prevents hard crystal bonding. Use Water Softeners (RLC) when measured chemical hardness removal is required.

Does installation require a pipe shutdown?

Yes. JFGP is an inline flanged vessel. If the plant cannot stop, review Induction Water Treatment for non-invasive coil wrapping.

What is the maximum water temperature?

Standard JFGP is rated for water temperatures ≤95 °C.

Can JFGP connect to a BMS?

Yes. An optional RS-485 Modbus RTU interface provides status, output power, runtime, and alarm data.

07 / Application Boundaries

JFGP Engineering Boundaries

Key application boundaries for inline electronic water treatment equipment.
Boundary 01 / Hardness Limits

<700 mg/L Boundary

Do not apply standard JFGP where water hardness exceeds 700 mg/L CaCO₃ without upgrading to induction or softeners.

Boundary 02 / Temperature Limits

≤95 °C Standard

Do not apply standard units above 95 °C without engineering approval for specialized high-temperature electrode seals.

Boundary 03 / Solids Filtration

Not a Particle Filter

JFGP does not remove suspended rust or debris; combine with SGV-PW or side-stream filters for particulate cleanup.

Boundary 04 / Flow Velocity

Size for Peak Flow

Do not specify JFGP solely from pipe DN; match the unit to actual peak flow (70–90% of rated capacity).
