Recirculation Chemical Filtration: Clean Indoor Air & Eliminate Infiltrated Gas

Fresh-air systems only treat make-up air. Corrosive gases entering through doors, cable penetrations, or equipment seals linger in server rooms, continuing circuit degradation.

YONGFAN CA and DBS units continuously polish indoor air, removing H₂S, SO₂, Cl₂, NOx, and formaldehyde via plug-in MediaPAK PK-12 modules or deep-bed top-fill designs.

Why Outdoor Treatment Alone Leaves Server Rooms Corroding

Corrosive gases enter through door traffic, cable trays, and envelope gaps. Fresh air units cannot cycle indoor room volume quickly enough to neutralize internal spikes.
Data center server racks operating in continuous low-corrosion environment
Room-Level Polishing Kinetics

Continuous Multi-Pass Air Cleaning

Recirculation units cycle room volume 6 to 12 times per hour, rapidly decaying infiltrated molecular gas concentrations below ISA S71.04 Class G1 limits.

Door & Cable Infiltration

Corrosive gas enters every time personnel enter. Outdoor-only systems never scrub the trapped indoor air surrounding active servers.

Impact: Localized corrosion pockets inside server racks

Recirculation ≠ Pressurization

Pure recirculation units do not bring outdoor air in. Positive room pressure requires fresh-air make-up (PSA) or DBS in positive-pressure mode.

Impact: Confusion between room cleaning & pressurization

Acoustic Disturbance

High-airflow blowers placed in occupied control rooms generate intrusive noise. CA uses acoustic lining and VFD control to remain below 65 dB.

Impact: Control room operator fatigue & noise complaints

Media Replacement Downtime

Refilling loose media inside live data centers creates dust risk. CA uses pre-packed, rail-mounted MediaPAK PK-12 slide-in cartridges.

Impact: Zero-dust cartridge replacement in live facilities

Recirculation Chemical Filtration FAQ

Direct engineering answers regarding CA and DBS applications, media replacement, noise, and pressurization.

Which YONGFAN unit is dedicated to room recirculation?

The CA Indoor Recirculation Chemical Filtration Unit is specifically designed to polish air already inside the protected room.

When should I choose DBS instead of CA?

Choose DBS when positive-pressure filtered make-up air is required in addition to chemical filtration, or when ducted connections are needed.

Does CA bring outdoor air into the room?

No. CA is a pure recirculation unit. Pair it with PSA or a positive-pressure DBS configuration when fresh outdoor air is required.

What is MediaPAK PK-12?

It is the pre-filled, rail-mounted chemical-media module used in CA units, replaced as a complete cartridge to eliminate in-room dust.

Which media handles NOx and formaldehyde?

PK12-CPB (sodium permanganate / KMnO₄) targets NOx, NO₂, formaldehyde, and trichloroethane alongside acid gases.

Can CA airflow be adjusted?

Yes. CA includes a built-in VFD and LCD control, allowing airflow to be matched to room volume and measured gas load.

07 / Application Boundaries

CA & DBS Engineering Boundaries

Clear distinction between indoor polishing, positive-pressure fresh air, and process exhaust scrubbing.
Boundary 01 / Fresh Air Intake

Not High-CFM Fresh Air

For large outdoor fresh-air make-up systems, select PSA or PSA-PG.

Boundary 02 / Exhaust Discharge

Not for Process Exhaust

CA and DBS are indoor room units. For contaminated exhaust discharge to the atmosphere, select WGP Series.

Boundary 03 / CA Pressurization

CA Does Not Pressurize

CA operates within closed room boundaries; it cannot create positive room overpressure without fresh-air units.

Boundary 04 / Media Life Sizing

Gas-Specific Life

Media replacement intervals depend on continuous infiltration rates and door traffic, not room square footage alone.
